Most of our consulting work involves the modification of our proprietary software for use in other situations. For example, The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) wanted to provide convenient access to their standardized contract forms that allows customization of the language for specific project conditions, but they also wanted to control unauthorized use of their copyrighted forms. BSD modified the software developed for its BSD SpecLink® product and paired it with AGC’s unique database to produce AGC DocuBuilder®, which delivers ConsensusDocs®. BSD also provides fulfillment and technical support services for the product.

Prior to moving into commercial software development, BSD developed software products for the Federal government for over 15 years. BSD developed the highly successful MCACES software which is still used by the Corps of Engineers and the Department of Defense for detailed estimating. We also developed the original Historical Analysis Generator software for the Corps, as well as the Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCC) system, and our BSD CostLink/CM still supports data exchange with DOD and Corps of Engineers MCACES Gold formatted projects.

In addition to modifying its own software for related uses, BSD considers contract development of new products that are closely aligned with its own needs and those of the construction software marketplace.
